Spice Mobile had recently announced its partnership with Chinese smartphone maker Coolpad. Under this partnership, the company had announced Spice Coolpad Mi-515. Now it has quietly launched another smartphone, Spice Coolpad 2 Mi-496, under this joint venture.
Spice Coolpad 2 Mi-496 is available through online retailer Saholic for Rs. 9,499.
This smartphone sports a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 540X960pixels. Spice Coolpad 2 Mi-496 is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor along with 1GB of RAM. It packs in 4GB of internal storage, which can be expanded by up to 32GB via microSD card.
Spice Coolpad 2 Mi-496 runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). There is no word whether this smartphone will receive an update to Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) or not. For camera, there is a 5-megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash. The smartphone has a 1,700mAh battery.
It is a dual-SIM smartphone, which supports 3G connectivity on one of the SIMs. The other connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS/ aGPS.
The major difference between Spice Coolpad 2 Mi-496 and Spice Coolpad Mi-515 is that the latter features a 5.0-inch display and packs in a larger 2,000mAh battery. In addition to this, Spice Coolpad Mi-515 also comes with a 0.3-megapxiel front camera, which seems to be missing in the recent offering.
Spice Coolpad 2 Mi-496 will be competing with Micromax Canvas 3D, Xolo Q700, Karbonn S1 Titanium and Intex Aqua Wonder Quadcore.
