Samsung Galaxy Core goes up for pre-order for Rs 15,350 (287 USD), to start shipping from July 1
Earlier this week, Samsung’s new mid-range device— the Galaxy Core, was spotted on the company’s India e-store, though there was no mention of any price. The e-store has now started accepting pre-orders for the device which is available for Rs 15,350 and will start shipping from July 1.
To remind you of the specifications, the Galaxy Core flaunts a 4.3-inch WVGA (800×480 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. Other features include a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, VGA camera at the front, 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 64GB using a microSD card, and a 1,800mAh battery.
Connectivity-wise, the device features dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS and on the software side of things, the Galaxy Core runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with TouchWiz UI layer on top. The device also comes pre-loaded with apps like Smart Stay, Smart Alert, Motion UI and S Voice that have been seen on other Samsung devices as well. Priced at Rs 15,350, the Galaxy Core will see competition from the likes of LG Optimus Black, Sony Xperia J and the HTC Desire X among others.
